19 Dec - Day 105 Air tightness test - a creditable score of 1.2 cubic meters per hour per square meter at 50 Pascals. (Compared to a maximum permitted building regs value of 8.0)

13 Dec - Day 101 Rubberised flat roof installed

5 Dec - Day 97 Unveiled: the scaffolding comes down

2 Dec -  Day 94 large picture windows are installed with the help of a spider crane

25 Nov - Day 91 All 72 solar panels installed.

18 Nov - Day 87 Timber cladding almost complete, we are very pleased with how it looks

16 Nov - Sal and I take on the laying of the floor damp proof course and the Cellotex floor insulation

14 Nov - Day 85 what happens when Storm Claudia dumps a load of rain and you have guttering and downpipes and don't have any storm drainage!!

 

13 Nov - Day 84 Timber Cladding two thirds complete and solar installation starts

22 Oct - Day 71 Corrugated steel roof starts to be installed

15 Oct - Day 66 We have some doors / windows

14 Oct - Day 65 more battening and guttering

25 Sept - Day 54 - Fully wrapped (looking somewhat like a Monopoly Hotel)

19 Sept - Day 52 more wrapping

17 Sept - Day 50 the house starts to get wrapped in it's breathable, waterproof membrane 

16 Sept - Day 49 the remaining internal walls are finished off

11 Sept - Day 46 roof structure completed

10 Sept - Day 45 more roofing 

9 Sept - Day 44 roof structure (SIPs) lifted into place 

4 Sept - Day 43 Glulam frame for rear gable end taking shape

28 Aug - Day 38 loft flooring 

27 Aug - Day 37 Gable end wall erected

Aug 26 - Day 36 first floor flooring base installed

Aug 22 - Day 35 we have scaffolding (for the roof) and some internal walls

20 Aug - Day 33 install of the metal posts which hold the ridge timber, metal web beams for the first floor and more panels at the front of the house erected

14 Aug - Day 30 - ceiling metal web joists installed

12 Aug - Day 28 - more walls

8 Aug - Day 26 - more panels erected

7th August - Day 25

6th August - Day 24 - Ten SIPs in place 

5th Aug - Day 23 - The SIP panels arrive from Merseyside

4th August - Day 22 - Blockwork and timber sole plates in place to support the SIPs and the internal walls

21st July - Day 19 - With rain and without shuttering

16th July  - Day 18 - Our raft foundation gets poured

9th July - Day 17 - Shuttering in place ready for concrete

3rd July - Day 13 - Steelwork on top of DPM

24th June 2025 - Day 7 - Below ground services / ducting in place - stone layers being built up

20th June 2025 - Day 5 - First layer of stone sub-base

19th June 2025 - Day 4 - Sub-foundation service ducting and soil pipes go in

18 June 2025 - Day 3 - we can now clearly see the house outline

17 June 2025 - Day 2 - things move quickly!

16th June 2025 - Day 1 - we break ground

27th May 2025 - We visit the factory on Merseyside where are SIPs are being made

9th Jan 2025 - Geotechnical Investigations to inform the engineering for the foundations
